The Discipline module for openSIS continues to demonstrate our commitment to providing our clients with the best open source student information system in the market. The Discipline module is designed following the National Center for Education Statistics Discipline (NCES) model and comes pre-populated with the NCES discipline codes and descriptions. Specifically, the Discipline module allows users to enter data about:
Information about the incident itself-for example, when it occurred and where it occurred;
Perpetrator(s) data;
Victim(s) data; and
Information about the disciplinary action taken and
related information such as weapons
In addition to providing codes for each area, the Discipline module provides detailed textual descriptions ensuring a complete understanding of the codes chosen for particular events. You can read more about the NCES Discipline model and see all of the codes and descriptions : click here
Incidents are created using drop down boxes with pre-populated codes and descriptions ensuring that erroneous data entry is eliminated. The module is completely configurable allowing administrators to enter codes for schools specific to the school, district and state. Incident codes can be added and textual descriptions can be changed to fit your specific needs. Facilities codes and information can be added as well.
The Discipline module includes a dashboard that allows you to view incidents:
that are open or closed
by school
by date
by incident time period
and individual incident search
Development is underway on a robust discipline reporting package that will allow users to create many different types of incident reports to suit their needs. In less than five mouse clicks, users will be able to create reports displaying discipline events in many different ways.
Try it for yourself. Visit our demo site here and login with user ID = admin and password = admin. This will give you complete access to all functionalities of the module.
The Discipline module is affordably priced with a one time fee of $2,500 and an annual maintenance fee of $250 that ensures you receive all upgrades and modifications free of charge. As with all of our modules, you receive all of the source code in the event that you would like to modify it yourself. openSIS modules are not provided under the GPL license.
